What would the landscape of horror be like without the famous monsters? For decades, audiences have screamed, laughed and even sometimes jeered at the creatures lurching across the screen. Some nightmares are done so well that they haunt you for years. Others look so cheap and tacky that they become famous for how terrible they look.

We've collected a dungeon full of classic horror and sci-fi flicks with "monster" in the title. You may recognize some of these movies from Svengoolie! See if you can complete their full, frightful names.

Watch Svengoolie on MeTV!

Saturdays at 8 PM

*available in most MeTV markets
  1. This 1955 Ed Wood flick had Bela Lugosi in his final speaking role in a feature film. It's "___ of the Monster"
  2. A classic Corman drive-in picture: "Attack of the ___ Monsters"
  3. This Karloff movie was (very) loosely based on an H.P. Lovecraft story: "___, Monster, ___!"
  4. A notoriously bad sci-fi movie with a misleading title: "___ Meets the Space Monster"
  5. Released as a double feature with "The Killer Shrews": "The Giant ___ Monster"
  6. A Rankin/Bass stop-motion musical comedy starring the likes of Phyllis Diller: "Mad Monster ___?"
  7. This film had a kaiju crossover of epic proportions with eleven different monsters. "___ All Monsters"
  8. "How to ___ a Monster" was a follow-up to "I Was a Teenage Werewolf" and "I Was a Teenage Frankenstein"
  9. Lon Chaney Jr.'s horror film debut: "___ Made Monster"
  10. "___ Monster" has been called one of the worst movies ever made, and has become a part of pop culture as a result
  11. These monsters really rock! It's "The ____ Monsters"

I saw most of these movies on Svengoolie! The rest I rented from Netflix.

That's why I stopped watching his stupid show in 2014; same stupid flicks repeated multiple times over, along with those lame Vaudeville jokes he tells. 😖😖😖😖😖

What a stellar line-up of movies. Love rear Window and Leave Her To Heaven which I usually watch a couple of times a year. Saw Dirty Dozen a couple of months ago. Excellent movie and what a cast!

Wonderful music and dance clips. FredFlix awards were interesting and fun. I knew Jack Nicholson, Blazing Saddles and The Godfather would win, but I was surprised by Superman. 🤷‍♀️ Columbo was good but I don’t understand why the murder unlocked the bathroom window. Was it to take the car to the mistresses apartment? 🤔 Then he would have to drive it back and get it back on the hoist and then make it to the concert in time. Seemed like a lot of work, but of course Columbo figured it out. As usual I laughed a lot at What’s My Line. Those ladies were so clever and witty. Dorothy’s giggles at Arlene’s innuendos were so cute. Thanks for the quiz, movies and clips Texas Another top notch effort! 🥂

Thanks for that review. We will have more MQ nights like tonight. I've a boatload of movies. That's for sure. 2000 in spread-sheet and probably another 1000 I have not entered yet. Probably 90% of Hitchcock. Most all the main classic era movies. I'll also run a few through this century. We still have Tom Hanks, Clint Eastwood older and newer movies and a whole lot of others just begging to be watched.

Are you doing okay? It seems sometimes you are a bit tired or fazed. Taking anything of note? Also look into Vitamin B 12, even the gummy ones (which taste like raspberries) by Welby. My doctor wanted me to take them and also D3 which also works for your health. We need you in tip-top shape. Also a small amount of a workout seems to help per day.

Ooooh. It's a Safety Dance! I remember the video looked like they were at a Renaissance fair or something like that.

Great cast of characters. I am looking forward to seeing what the movies are.

I'm flopped on the loveseat, so any dancing is taking place in my imagination. I'm a much better dancer there, anyway. "Oh, the farmer and the cow man should be friends...." Doing a little do-si-do-ing now.

You must remember the movie, watching a vid from YT on that dance or have a copy of your own. If you don't have a copy I suggest you take the one I post. It is next to pristine in color and vid quality.

I've seen the movie several times, although, not recently. It was also the spring musical my senior year in high school.

I like How to Make a Monster. Entertaining! That's actor Paul Maxwell as one of the new movie studio owners. He was also in Aliens and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade as the guy with the panama hat in that scene with the ship.

Why did filmmakers decide have monsters "Meet"? Frankenstein Meets the Wolfman. Were they having tea? Frankenstein Meets the Space Monster. Were they going to the mall? Stupid titles!
