Well, television characters feel the same way themselves. Sitcoms have continually used game shows as hilarious setpieces.

It's not so much "deserving" because they can be worthy unto themselves. But the place where it's most appropriate to be showing them. On the network dedicated to Game Shows is where the widest, most interested audience can tune it to enjoy them!

The Highway Patrol is one of the few 1950's truly classic TV Series being shown. Must be tough enough to watch it that early. But I don't think Viewers would be pleased it were replaced by a Game Show!
