How well do you know Old West slang?

Mosey on over if you ain't afeard.

The Old West, especially as portrayed in classic TV shows like Gunsmoke and Wagon Train, had many colorful characters who used equally colorful language. Charlie Wooster, the ornery cook on Wagon Train played by Frank McGrath, always had some choice words for anyone who insulted his cooking.

On Gunsmoke, Deputy U.S. Marshall Festus Haggen (played by Ken Curtis) often had something interesting to say, even if half the time you couldn't understand what he was actually saying!

Take the quiz below to see if you're fit for the open range.

15/15. Did they get all these from Festus Hagen? My mother used to say "dilly dally".

Well howdy pardner! You're a regular expert. Had to guess on 11 and 15 (the only 2 that I've never heard of or seen before), but I managed to guess right.

You got 13 out of 15 - Well howdy pardner! You're a regular expert. That was pretty cool. Had to guess on a few and guessed incorrectly on #11 and #15.

14/15. Pretty surprising since I DID get one wrong, but there was no #7. It was covered by an ad, but when I closed the Ad, there was no Q&A there. I used to enjoy these quizzes, but now I hardly get one that isn't missing a question. Sometimes the quiz chooses an answer other than the one I chose. Sometimes the quiz image jumps up and down so that when I choose an answer, the quiz recognizes another answer. I've complained, but to no avail. When are you people going to fix this thing?

12/15; I did pretty good despite not being a Western fan and having to guess on most.

That Is not what buck up means

Cheer up is what I've always believed it to be, not necessarily having to do with "old west slang"

There were some I have never heard used in any western.

15/15 but I had to guess at the last one.
I never heard that one in polite society.
