Meet The Flintstones on MeTV!

America’s first family of animated comedy is coming to MeTV!

Premiering on Monday, September 30, fifty-nine years to the day from its very first telecast, The Flintstones will air on MeTV weeknights, with back-to-back episodes starting at 6PM | 5C. Yes, that means Bedrock and Mayberry are now neighbors.

For the first time since the prehistoric era, Fred and Wilma, Barney and Betty and the rest of the gang are back on national broadcast network TV. So get ready to rock… Bedrock!

When The Flintstones premiered in the fall of 1960, it shook up television like a slab of dinosaur ribs slapped on the side of a car. Never before had there been a primetime, cartoon sitcom. Additionally, it was the first animated series to earn a nomination for the Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series. The cartoon featured the voice talents of familiar MeTV faces such as Bea Benaderet (Petticoat Junction) and Howard Morris (The Andy Griffith Show).

Today, the Flintstones are global icons and the, er, bedrock of the Hanna-Barbera empire. After six seasons, the show spawned spin-offs, movies, toys, comic books, vitamins, cereals, merchandise and more.

Stay tuned for more information — and more fun — surrounding the Flintstones!

Surprised that Boomerang TV is allowing MeTV to have the rights to The Flintstones.
Well this is just the beginning for Me-TV!

Advertisers prefers not to sponser airting for cartoons on diginets. We are surprisingly lucky the Boomerang TV is allowing MeTV to have the rights to The Flintstones
VaughnBaskin Gary 2 days ago

The should put it on at 7 instead of MASH.
M*A*S*H is MeTV's #1 show and on #1 timeslot. You also know that MeTV has now been airing M*A*S*H in HD.

Until you finally listened to me, because you talk about retro cartoons, but you didn't have any. Today finally "The Flinstones".
I hope this is the beginning of more retro cartoons.

Am surprised that MeTV was allowed to have the rights to The Flintstones. Boomerang TV usually pays for exclusive rights to Hanna-Barbera programming.
As well for MGM, Ruby-Spears, and Sid and Marty Krofft shows too!

I would love for you to add The Huckleberry hound show and some other old classics since boomerang is fully dead since WarnerMedia screwed it over but I’m very excited to see this show come back and cannot wait to see what’s next in the future to add!!
I don't think Boomerang TV will easilly give up rights to other shows. Am surprised MeTV was allowed the rights to The Flintstones. They were a primetime show by the way
As did for The Jetsons and Jonny Quest as well, i sense that Me-TV just wanna create their very own version of The Funtastic World Of Hanna-Barbera someday!
Oh I would love to see Jonny Quest.

This is a great idea!! (I agree w/others about showing old cartoons on Saturday mornings.) First of all, does anyone watch "Petticoat Junction" ? Second of all, if they do it's on another network similar to MeTV.
JosephMatthews Katzi 3 days ago
First of all, advertisers do not likely sponser cartoons on diginets which explains why Saturday Morning cartoons are not airing on diginets like MeTV. BoomerangTV also has exclusive rights to many of those cartoons. Am surprised that Boomerang is allowing MeTV to have the rights to The Flintstones which was a primetime show. I don't recall Petticoat Junction being on another diginet channel at this time. If Petticoat Junction is on another channel besides MeTV would be a CABLE channel.
Well don't forget H-B did a lot of great primetime cartoons in the late '50's and the early '60's so...............

Great news. Would also like to see Pixie and Dixie, Quick Draw, Augie Doggie, Yogi...
JosephMatthews denny 3 days ago
BoomerangTV would not likely give up rights to their shows easilly. Also advertisers do not likely sponsor cartoons on diginet channels like MeTV. MeTV was luckilly to be allowed the rights to The Flintstones.
Well you never know right?

Good news for Me-TV fans, bad news for me personally, since I'm Canadian and I won't get to see it. Even worse will be some of the very predictable articles that you will see on this website in the coming weeks like: "Who said it: Fred Flintstone or Greg Brady?", "How the Flintstones influenced Star Trek, Mork and Mindy, and Game Of Thrones", "How Well Do You Know The Flintstones Theme Song?" and "10 Reasons Why Barney Rubble Was A Great Actor". The one story that I would love to read about is how the show was almost sued by Jackie Gleason because he felt it was too much like the Honeymooners. He was wrong. It was better! Yabba Dabba Doo! I love Hanna-Barbera!
MrsPhilHarris SalIanni 8 days ago
Saliani why won't you see it? I'm in Vancouver and get the Seattle feed. Nothing gets pre-empted. Years ago we wouldn't get some of the early morning shows but we get them all now.

METV should have a full Saturday morning of cartoons like the good old days. If they could get the copyrights to The Flintstones then I'm sure they could get the rights to other H-B show, Looney Tunes or Tom and Jerry because there both own by WB. SATURDAY MORNING CARTOONS ON METV! WHO'S WITH ME?
I AM - I would LOVE to get up early Saturday morning and watch cartoons - real cartoons, not like the stuff that's on today; then I'd go back to bed and get up early evening and stay up all night watching Sci-Fi. That would be perfect!
MeTV was luckilly to have the rights to The Flinstones. BoomerangTV usually pays for exclusive rights to shows that airs on BoomerangTV. The Flintstones by the way was a weekly primetime show. Also advertisers does not likely support cartoons airing on diginets like MeTV (unless they are an e/i program). I do not think BoomerangTV will give up the rights easilly to Tom & Jerry and the Looney Tunes (some of those cartoons were honestly secretly made for grownups and not really appropriate for children). Also many of the Saturday Morning Cartoons remains under the exclusive rights to BoomerangTV.
I Think that Me-TV should do their version of The Funtastic World Of Hanna-Barbera featuring The Jetsons, The Flintstones, and The Adventures Of Jonny Quest.

This is the best news in a long time!! Please more Hanna B. for MeTV!!

MeTV was luckilly to be allowed the rights to The Flintstones. BoomerangTV does not likely allow other channels to have the rights to Boomerang's programs

FUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNTASTIC! I Hope you can more H-B toons for your fall lineup this year, plus please bring H.R. Pufnstuf back to Me-TV for his 50th anniversary!
MeTV was luckilly to be allowed the rights to The Flintstones. BoomerangTV does not likely allow other channels to have the rights to Boomerang's programs. MeTV might be able to air Pufnstuf if they still have the rights to it
They will, plus Warner Bros. Animation owns the H-B library not Boomerang.

Leave Andy alone! He's an American icon!!
Hey yo Joey! Both Andy and Fred are both american icons silly!

Awesome! Should bring back Saturday Morning cartoons.
And they will, just give Me-TV some time.
Many of the Saturday Morning Cartoons remain under the exclusive rights to Boomerang TV. Also advertisers does not likely support cartoons airing on diginets like MeTV. MeTV was surprisingly lucky to be allowed the rights to The Flintstones. Hopefully it can get advertisers support. The Flintstones by the way was a weekly primetime show

Don't forget about Harvey Korman from "The Carol Burnett Show". He was the Great Gazoo on "The Flintstones"!
Grynch_84 10 days ago
Would love to see more of the classic cartoons from the 60's thru the 80's.
VaughnBaskin Grynch_84 10 days ago
And they will! So don't worry.
That will depend on advertisers who does not likely support cartoons airing on diginets like MeTV. And besides BoomerangTV likely remains to have the exclusive rights to many of the cartoons
bettyluvsgators 10 days ago
not happy!!!! cartoons EVERY night - x2 - not happy!!!!
Come on now Betty, the Me-TV fans really want to bring cartoons to their lineup and The Flintstones are just the 1st.
