Can you guess the classic movie by just the poster's tagline?

A new— and altogether different— quiz excitement!!!

Taglines... they just don't make 'em like they used to. While a modern movie poster occasionally might feature a brief little phrase, it won't be as snappy or hyperbolic as it would have been back in the day, and it definitely won't feature multiple exclamation points.

With how much fun the taglines of classic movies used to be, we figured, let's see if you can guess which movie poster we pulled the following taglines from. Good luck!
  1. "Warner Bros.' challenging drama of today's juvenile violence!"
  2. "The tide of terror that swept America IS HERE"
  3. "Who will survive and what will be left of them?"
  4. "An epic drama of adventure and exploration"
  5. "The terrifying motion picture from the terrifying No. 1 best seller."
  6. "Warning! The monster demands a mate!"
  7. "The man... and the motion picture that simply do not conform."
  8. "It's all about women... and their men!"
  9. "If you come in five minutes after this picture begins, you won't know what it's all about! When you've seen it all, you'll swear there's never been anything like it!"
  10. "Together for the first time!"
  11. "Pass the warning."
  12. "From out of space... a warning and an ultimatum!"
  13. "A new— and altogether different— screen excitement!!!"

Can you guess the classic movie by just the poster's tagline?

10/13. Second guessing myself again.

9/13. I guess I'll be saying this until my dying day: "The Shining"=OVERRATED!

about question 1: how stupid was it to have Breaking Away as a choice? Not only wasn't it a WB movie, there isn't a single violent scene in the whole movie! I suspect they thought millennials might confuse it with Breaking Bad.

10/13! What movie had this tag line: "Oh yes, there will be blood!" Hint: It's not as obvious as you may think!

"Saw II". I use that quote at work whenever two people start arguing.

YEP! I always hated that PT Anderson stole that phrase for the title of the most overrated film to win a Best Actor Oscar! "I drink your milkshake"? GMAFB!

7 out of 13. I have only seen 3 of the movies listed in the quiz: Rebel Without a Cause, It Happened One Night, and Fantasia.

8/13. Love the chainsaw tagline. I guess It Happened One Night was the first time Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert appeared together.

I missed that question because Gable and Colbert never did another film together because they worked at different studios, whereas Tracy and Hepburn did a number of films together.
