Were these horror movies actually released around Halloween?

They're all spooky, but were they released in Spooky Season?

Spooky season is here! Many of us are preparing for Halloween by grabbing a pumpkin spice latte, hanging spooky decorations and skeletons, and building the perfect costume. However, nothing screams Halloween like a good horror movie marathon.

Spooky season is obviously full of surprises, and here's one of them: As much as these horror flicks are synonymous with October, many came out in the summer, in the new year, or even around Christmas.

Were these horror movies actually released around Halloween? Good luck, and tell us your favorite horror movie to watch around Halloween in the comments below.

The only one that I knew for sure was Poltergeist. I remember that it was summer when I saw it.

10/15 mostly guesses

Night of the Living Dead was released 27 days before and it gets a yes, but Carrie and Nightmare on Elm Street were released 16 days later and that isn’t “anywhere near Halloween”?
