Which Addams Family member said these hilarious lines?

Can you guess who had these macabre musings?

The Addams Family used a constant stream of visual gags and one-liners to satirize the behavior of “normal” TV families from the 1960s. The strange and ghastly but always funny ponderings of Morticia, Gomez and the rest meant there was never a dull moment at the Addams mansion.

We’ve collected some of our favorite lines said by the members of TV’s spookiest family. Can you guess who said each one?

  1. “You rang?”
  2. “A spider’s a girl’s best friend.”
  3. “This is going to be the greatest train wreck in railroad history!”
  4. “I’ve been yours since that first day you carved my initials in your leg.”
  5. “Then I can run away and still be around to see them suffer.”
  6. “I’m going to sit in my treehouse and watch the lightning.”
  7. “Croquet is a combination of two things: balance, timing, peripheral vision, superb coordination and a killer’s instinct.”
  8. “Nice knife! Can I play autopsy with it?”
  9. “There’s nothing more romantic than a dark, chill attic in a thunderstorm.”
  10. “I’m a wallflower.”
  11. “Right now, I have the most enviable collection of coroner’s reports in the neighborhood.”
  12. [While holding an axe] “I haven’t used this beauty since the taxman was here.”
  13. “I always eat a very simple, wholesome meal. Now, for breakfast this morning I had walnut shells and sour milk.”

10 out of 13. I got a picture of Lurch smiling at me at the end. That was pretty funny 😄!

I used to watch the show the same way I watched Gilligan's Island and The Monkees (syndication is a wonderful thing...and I was in grade school) and I'm not saying I can prove it, but...well, number 10 needs to be looked into. Lurch never put that many words together that I remember! But Ted Cassidy was marvelous in the TV movie Benny & Barney: Las Vegas Undercover (1976).

You got 13 out of 13
That score would make anyone smile. Great job!
Did anyone else notice there were 13 questions? Perfect number for the Addams Family

It was indeed. I watched the Munsters too when I was a kid, but the Addamses were (& are) vastly superior. They were 90s snark TV a generation & a half in advance.

While passing by the house at a dead run! -laugh-

Meh! Take away the costumes and makeup, and THE MUNSTERS was just a typical '60's family sitcom--no different, really, than THE DONNA REED SHOW or THE BRADY BUNCH.
