Brad Garrett said that there couldn't be an Everybody Loves Raymond reboot without Doris Roberts and Peter Boyle
“There’s no show without the parents,” said the actor.

There’s nothing wrong with a good reboot. It offers an opportunity for fans to reunite with their favorite characters. However, lightning never strikes twice.
With a focus on family, Everybody Loves Raymond wasn’t a popular show because of the sets or the plots; audiences tuned in to see the characters.
During an interview with Celebrity Page, Brad Garrett, who played Robert Barone for nine seasons in the popular series, was asked whether there might be any hope for a reboot of the popular sitcom. Garrett said that a reboot would be impossible due to the deaths of his on-screen parents, played by Doris Roberts and Peter Boyle.

Garrett explained that the cast of Everybody Loves Raymond was more than just co-stars; they became like a real-life family.
“I know it sounds so cliché, but we were really, really close,” said Garrett. “We were all very different, came from different walks of life - Ray and I from stand-up, Peter from movies, Doris from film and TV. We just kind of clicked. It was a time in our lives when we were really just close. I miss them, but some things you don’t go back to. We can never recreate that.”
