The animatronics got recycled!

In a recent Instagram post, special effects makeup and animatronics company Alterian, Inc. confirmed a long-believed rumor about Chucky boogying to some classic French electronic music.

“We did use Chucky’s animatronic skeleton for Daft Punk’s ‘Technologic’ music video,” the company wrote in a caption beneath the well-remembered video.

“But many people don’t know it’s a hybrid of the whole Chucky family!”

While many had assumed the skeletal structure belonged to the Lakeshore Strangler, few could’ve guessed that it wasn’t just the Good Guy components in the iconic music video. Instead, as confirmed by Alterian, the character in the video featured Glen’s arms, Tiffany’s teeth, and Chucky’s body.

“New eyes were made for this by @wwwkenstoolscom since they had to glow red,” the animatronics company confirmed.

While Kevin Yagher was the original designer and executor for the Chucky doll in the first four films in the franchise, Tony Gardner eventually took over the role with his company, Alterian, ushering in a new era with Seed of Chucky.

The doll DJ isn’t the only thing Alterian contributed to the Daft Punk mythos either, as the company also designed and executed the duo’s iconic helmets, which were still in use when the act broke up in 2021. In addition, Alterian designed and created the GEICO Cavemen characters and the current version of Smokey Bear.

In addition to other film franchises like Hocus Pocus and Zombieland, Alterian has helmed the special effects animatronics for Chucky’s most recent incarnation on the SyFy/Peacock TV show, Chucky!
