MeTV salutes classic actors that served on Veteran's Day

From the Army to the Navy to the National Guard, here are some veterans you may see on MeTV

This isn't an exhaustive list, obviously — there are so many classic actors who served our country, it would be difficult if not impossible to list them all.

Watching MeTV on Veteran's Day, you may see special recognition of people in the programs you're watching that served in some branch of the US military. In honor of their service, we've listed them out here.

Eddie Albert risked his own life to save others during the battle of Tarawa in world war two. A real hero in my book.

What an impressive number of our TV heroes served our country, and made it possible for us to have the freedoms we are allowed to enjoy. Thank you, Veterans, for going above and beyond for all of us!

President Reagan was in the Navy. You also forgot Glenn Ford who was either in the Navy or Army. Both held a commission.

Happy Veteran's Day. Where's Eric Fleming and Clint Eastwood?

You forgot Leonard Nimoy, US Army and James Doohan, who lost his finger at D-Day with the Canadian Army.

Ken Osmond also was a motorcycle cop with the LAPD. He was shot while on duty in 1980.

Yes, and during that period, he was on To Tell The Truth! And NO he was NEVER a porn star!

It's Marine and Army Air CORPS, not "corp."

Idiots.

I thought the same thing.

William Hopper not only actually served in the Navy, but played the naval officer who was Rhoda Denmark's dad in The Bad Seed.

Too young for Vietnam myself. Not complaining.
Still, could you list some famous names who served in the elite Don't-You-Know-Who I-AM Division?
Often a road to the White House.
Or soft shoulder, as the case may be.

I didn't know that most of the M*A*S*H cast was actually in the military at one point, that changes everything and makes M*A*S*H hit at a different level.

What an extensive list! Thank you for your service!

Actually, I believe Bugs Bunny was a Marine in "Super Rabbit"! Also, while the USO is run by the military, the performers are civilians! Bonus Question: What MeTV aunt was a government agent during WW 2?

Can't believe no one knew it was Madge Blake AKA Aunt Harriet on Batman! She served with her husband!
