Are these 1980s video games or Star Trek characters?

Zaxxon, Zetar, Gorf and Korax. Where on Earth (or in space) do these names come from?

The Sixties sure had some far-out aliens on TV – some from the far reaches of space, others much closer to home. The original Star Trek brought all kinds of wonderfully weird cosmic characters to living rooms across the country, and the names of these aliens were as unique as their appearances.

A decade after Star Trek first aired, video games began sweeping the nation, both at home and at hallowed halls of buttons, neon lights and repetitive music (AKA arcades). Though the graphics were rudimentary, the premise of many games promised everything from medieval quests to space battles.

Do you remember the bizarre names of many Eighties arcade games? What about the distinctive names of Star Trek aliens? See if you can tell the difference in this quiz!

17/20 many were guesses. I grew up before video games..remember paying to play Pong when first came out...I was in high school. Our big things were 9 ball and pinball...I was king of the 5Card Stud pinball machine....completely mechanical, nothing digital, not even score...loved that machine. One day I put 1 quarter in and won so many free games I played until my first class at 10, handed it over to a buddy who was good, came back after lunch...he was still playing...he handed it back to me and I played until my next class, handed it over to another friend. Came back 90 minutes later, still playing but on last couple of games....they didn't make any money off us that day

17 out of 20. Is that good or bad? For someone who has never bothered with video games, I guess it's not too bad.

You got 16 out of 20 -Kirk and Sulu would be unbeatable in the arcade! Did you get through all the levels of this quiz or was it game over? More difficult than I thought it would be but still pretty good. I'll take it.

"Krell"? Quite frankly, that sounds like a shampoo!

20 out of 20

Too easy if you grew up in the 1980s. But there were some close ones like Krell, which is close to the game Krull.

16/20. Just took it to see if I could do it. I'm not a "Star Trek" fan. Also born in 1982, and a bit too young for a lot of video games when they first came out. I wasn't a gamer as a kid, though.
