Can you name the TV star hosting Saturday Night Live in the 1970s?

See if you recognize these guest hosts from the first five seasons.

It's hard to believe that Saturday Night Live is heading into its 45th season. The "Not Ready for Primetime Players" made their debut in 1975.

Of course, they had some comedic help from guest hosts with plenty of primetime experience. We've gathered some classic TV icons from the first five seasons of SNL, up through the fifth season (1979–80). Okay, so yeah, a few of them were technically hosting in early 1980. But they are certainly all Seventies stars. See if you can identify them all.

Good luck!

15/15 Though I was quite young when Desi Arnaz appeared, I remember it being a big deal. My parents were hosting 2 other couples for pinochle. When Don Pardo announced "Desi Arnaz" the game came to a halt until Desi finished his monologue.

Wow, #8 that looked like Farrah Fawcett. I thought they had two hosts that week.
And I thought Ricky Nelson died before 1975.

14/15 and some comments: [3]Knight was clearly doing a takeoff on Steve Martin's standup persona! [7] She's the only host here that has appeared on SNL this season! [8] The other "Angels" are Gilda Radner and Jane Curtin! [15] Except for a "Highway Patrol" parody, Crawford sat down for most of the show!
Louise Lasser was pathetic. She would crawl around on the floor of Rockefeller Center going into offices looking for drugs. Lorne Michaels was really mad. LL was the first person banned from SNL.

14/15 Missed #8. I never watched " Charlie's Angels", so I didn't have a clue.

15/15, supposedly when Louise Lasser hosted she was so messed up (on whatever) Lorne Michaels considered having cast members take her place wearing wigs.
cperrynaples Barry22 3 months ago
Yes, Lasser was on something when she did this! All of these can be seen on Hulu!
