Trivia: Gene Lyons (Ambassador Fox) is best known for his role on Ironside (1967~1974) as Police Commissioner Dennis Randall. Gene dated actresses Lee Grant & Grace Kelly. Miko Mayama (Tamula) was in a relationship with Burt Reynolds and dated Frank Sinatra.
The beautiful Albert Whitlock matte painting would be the last one used in which actors were inserted into the shot.
First time the full name of the United Federation of Planets was used.
The sonic disruptors and the communicators would be modified and become Klingon weapons and communicators.
