Tim conway beat them all. Never saw anyone funnier.
Saw Robin williams at the comedy store at La Jolla when he was starting out. He was a very close second but his act got old after a while.

Conway was such a GREAT adlibber. Marvelous at breaking up the other cast members
Barney was funnier than all of them but watching all the old TAGS, barney did get annoying sometimes.

80%…ALF, Norm, and Gilligan are close… But with all due respect to Barney, the all-time funniest is Lucy Ricardo. No ifs, ands, buts, or bones about it!
Don Knott was a classic comedian! I love Barney Fife but they should have added Ed Norton and Ralph Kramden for comparison lol!

I thought Barney Fife was an amazing character! Other Don Knotts roles, not so much.
I'm not a big Don Knotts fan, he was funnier than 90% of the people in this quiz. But I did vote for Max Klinger over him.
Barney did not have much competition in this poll. Ralph Kramden and Ed Norton are way funnier.
Ed Norton yes Ralph Kramden no. Didn't find his yelling all the time funny.
Other characters I would have added: Lucy, Rob Petrie, Hank Kimball, Ralph Kramden, Ed Norton, Gomer Pyle, Uncle Arthur, Archie Bunker, Al Bundy, Lenny & Squiggy, Mork, Jack Tripper, and (naturally) Ralph Furley. Any one of them would make great competition for Barney Fife. He might be able to beat about half of them but it would still be a close race.

Actually I can't stand the character of Barney. He is such a know it all who is not very likable. Not sure why the writers turned him into such a self centered idiot - at the beginning of the show Barney was stupid but sweet later he is an ego-manic and mean.

Barney (Don Knotts) was such a good actor, had such a mobile face, he was 100% believable and endearing. But, there were those moments, I wanted to shake him until his teeth rattled! Like Lucy, he could be a bit much.
