Is this Thing from The Addams Family or ‘The Beast with Five Fingers’?
Can you put your finger on these disembodied hands?
Almost two decades before Thing delighted audiences on The Addams Family, a homicidal hand frightened viewers in the film The Beast with Five Fingers. Now a cult classic, and a Svengoolie favorite, this suspenseful thriller stars horror icon Peter Lorre and Robert Alda (yes, Alan’s dad). It also showcases surprisingly good special effects that hold up even after all these years.
While their temperaments could not be more different, Thing and the Beast share at least five things in common. Based on the images below, can you tell these living hands apart?
-
Is this hand Thing or a beast?
-
Is this a five-fingered friend or foe?
-
Do you know this hand?
-
Need a hand in the library?
-
This hand is armed!
-
Who is playing the piano?
-
Can you put your finger on this hand?
-
Who is this?
-
Which hand is in this box?
-
What about this hand?
Is this Thing from The Addams Family or ‘The Beast with Five Fingers’?

5/5 I didn’t watch the movie and very few shows but I didn’t think it would be that hard I was wrong. 5/5
Shoot, easier than feeding Cleopatra. Not even a challenge, especially since TBWFF was on Saturday night.
Time to take off ones Sunday-Go-To-Meeting clothes and bare down on this Movie Quiz.
Our quiz movie is full of Oscar winners and other awards from previous movies. It also was nominated for 2 awards. The genre is Adventure Drama. Sometimes the best laid plans fall apart at the wrong place and time. The quagmire is to find your way out of this predicament. As in not only your life but everyone else. What is there to do but the impossible. You will see as the situation becomes dire and some lose their wits. How will this end as you wring your hands in anticipation. Most of these actors are ones we grew up with and could not wait for their next performances. All have passed on. The last survivor died this year (2022) So belt out your guesses so we can all share in your success.
Now for some Throwback Entertainment while one strains their brains guess the movie quiz.
We start off with some Styx. Too much time on my hands.............
.
There she stood in the doorway......Yes it is. The Eagles and Hotel California. What's better then the Vinyl. That would be Live. Just enjoy. I am not sure if using $299 buds could make Hotel California any better then my $45 pair of HPhones. Coz if so I would just skip on past the Pearly Gates on to Heaven unabated.
**************************Eagles - Hotel California**************************
.
Turn back the clock with some Gone Groups of the 60's. Watch Me Now! Tell me......
Dave Clark Five - Do You Love Me. Do you like it like this........
.
At The Old Grey Whistle Test. BBC2, 1978. Dire Straits. We're the Sultans!..........The Sultans of Swing. Yes they are and by the time you get to the Crescendo you will be a swingn' too.
.
The Animals - Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood 1965.
I think I just broke the bank with a little music Baccarat. Like James Bond 007. On to Monti Carlo.

Lol, Thank You for the psychic vibes. I couldn't figure the quiz out. Glad KJExpress was able to guess the correct answer. As texasluva likes to say "there's always next time."
Like Archie once said, "God put hands at the end of arms because He thought that's where they would be ..... handy."! 🤣😂
10 out of 10! Helped that I just watched The Beast with Five Fingers last night
Just wondering... I haven't seen ANY responses to some of my posts for at least four days. Usually there's a great back-and-forth with others but I'm wondering if there's an issue with my account, a system-wide issue, or just that the usual commentors are busy with other things... stange...

I would agree on the visionary aspect. He is certainly expanding Weigel's product line. He hired the
Senior Vice President of factual programming from Discovery, Inc. who made decisions for programming for Discovery Channel, Animal Planet and Science Channel, for their new network. He is certainly surrounding himself with knowledgeable individuals.

Thank you ever so much. Those novelty records seem like a lifetime ago, and I'm glad I can still do my font work - albeit more slowly... I accomplished a bit of work today, but I'm suspecting that the arthritis and tendonistis is going to affect the amount of my work output.
I used to release 10 fonts per month - 120 per year... but after taking some time off while my main sales site did some upgrade maintenance, it was a bit of physical relief for me - but I miss the "workhorse" that I used to be prior to that.
Right now I have 1,910 retro fonts released. I would love to find enough material to make it to 2000 releases, and then if I had to pack it up it, would be a milestone... but even 1,910 releases is pretty darned good for "one man using older software"...

By chance did anyone see that moronic Sventoonie last night? Talking about the waste of half an hour of air time, my god it was a awful. Please MeTV dump Sventoonie and air an hour of Batman instead.
I liked the old school haunted house scene. I think it said Sventoonie and the e dropped down. It reminded me of a typical haunted house from when I was a kid. I tune out pretty much after that.
The show is slightly similar to the VH1 Pop Up Video program that ran from (1996-2002), just the commentary part is from Toony, not the pop-up bubble that VH1 used. Just my take. LOL
They need to leave the talking fish on the morning cartoon programing and get him out of Saturday sci-fi night.
