Kris Kristofferson: How well do you remember his film career?

Which of these movies starred the multi-hyphenate talent?

 The Everett Collection

In late September 2024, America lost one of its last great connections to the outlaw West. Kris Kristofferson was a singer, a poet, a Highwayman, and an incredible writer.

While he may be best remembered for writing unforgettable tunes like "Me and Bobby McGee," Kristofferson surprised many with his believable acting skills, bringing depth and pathos to any role he was cast in. Many musicians star in movies, but few do so as naturally as Kris Kristofferson.

So let's see whether you can remember which movies Kristofferson was in. We'll list a flick, you tell us whether the Outlaw Country great starred in it or not! Good luck, and be sure to share your score and favorite of his songs in the comments section below.

  1. We'll start with an easy one: "A Star is Born" (1976)
  2. "Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid" (1973)
  3. "The Bonfire of the Vanities" (1990)
  4. "Convoy" (1978)
  5. "Pee-wee's Big Adventure" (1985)
  6. "Once Upon a Time in America" (1984)
  7. "Blade" (1998)
  8. "Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore" (1974)
  9. "Planet of the Apes" (2001)
  10. "Air Bud" (1997)

Eight out of ten. Didn't know about one movie -- never saw it -- and went too quickly and didn't see the 2001 for Planet of the Apes.

10/10; I guessed about half of them. Hard to imagine what Streisand's 'A Star is Born' would have been like had Elvis done the movie like she'd originally wanted. It would have been amazing hearing them sing together, at least.
If Elvis was in the movie, it would have taken the spotlight off of the Babs. Being the egomaniac that she is, she wouldn't have stood for that.

I also "got word," years back, that he was a captain in the U. S. Army.
Why any man would want to leave THAT, befuddles me.
