The Experts-Only Elf Quiz

A Quiz of Elf-fish Proportions

"Santa! I know him!"

It's the most wonderful time of the year. And what could ring in the Yuletide spirit better than Christmas movies?

Among the feature films that have worked their way into the collective Christmas consciousness, one of the more recent additions is Elf, starring Will Ferrell. For an entire generation, Elf defined Christmas movies as a careful combination of heart and laughter.

So, let's see how well you recall Elf. Be sure to share your score in the comments section below!

Is Elf too new to be considered "classic," or does its quality instantly place it in the pantheon? It was released in 2003, after all! Tell us how you feel about the movie and its star and whether its wormed its way into your tinsel time traditions!

  1. Which actor plays Buddy the Elf's biological father, Walter Hobbs?
  2. Which actor plays Buddy's adoptive father, Papa Elf?
  3. Which of the following is NOT a location Buddy must traverse through to reach New York City?

  6. Instead of spaghetti sauce, Buddy uses which condiment?
  7. True or False: Elf features a brief cameo from Peter Billingsley, who starred as Ralphie in A Christmas Story.
  8. What technique was used to make Will Ferrell appear larger than his co-stars who played elves?
  9. Finish the line: "I'm the worst toy-maker in the world. I'm a ___________________!"

"You got 7 out of 10. You did it!!"

I have never seen Elf, the only thing I knew was that Bob Newhart was in it as an elf.
Good guesswork.

8 0f 10. Not too bad since it's been a few years since I've seen the complete movie! It is a fun film! Bob Newhart's type of deadpan humor always cracks me up! Cold spaghetti covered with maple syrup, washed down with sugary soda kinda makes me want to run for my toothbrush! Happy Holidays To All!!!

Fun film. I had lost my wife in early 2000. This is the first movie I saw afterwards that really made me laugh. Still a favorite.
