Sometimes, the best things are the ones that exhaust your energy. Think about running a marathon or raising children. You’ll need a strong heart and a great deal of stamina. The greatest experiences expect a great deal of us so that we can receive that much more satisfaction when they are accomplished.

Starring in a series as popular as The Fugitive was a feat in itself. The series lasted for four seasons, each episode keeping the audience on the edge of their seats. Years later, the show spawned a successful film reboot.

The star of the crime series, David Janssen, had nothing but fond memories of his time working on the series. However, he acknowledged that as an actor, the role required a great deal during an interview with The Saginaw News.

“It was an exhausting experience,” said Janssen, “a good show, a good organization, and I enjoyed it.”

Certainly influencing Janssen’s fond memories was the wild success the show enjoyed throughout its run. Moreover, the consistent and lengthy tenure of The Fugitive allowed Janssen to grow accustomed to Dr. Richard Kimble.

“It made me an awful lot of money,” said the actor of the series. “For an actor, it was a fine exercise, playing the same character but faced with a different set of problems.”

The series gave Janssen name recognition and turned him into a familiar face that audiences rooted for. “It’s a nice thing when you get good reviews and good ratings,” said the actor. “When people, who are much more sophisticated than they were 10 years ago, realize that you’re really David Janssen playing a role and not really a doctor on the lam.”
