Emergency! creator Robert Cinader often spent three hours redrafting scripts for Emergency!

However, Cinader revealed that in some cases, the process took as long as twenty hours.

For some people, your best is simply trying as hard as possible. For others, it's much, much more than that. Perfectionists are everywhere. You either know one, or you are one. If you are one, give yourself a break and cut yourself some slack, okay?

We're not knocking perfectionists; being so scrupulous certainly has its advantages. Arguably, perfectionists are the only ones who are able to fully appreciate their own work, because they understand the hardships that went into creating it.

As one of the creators of Emergency! Robert Cinader understood the grueling process that was necessary to create an episode of the hit series. During an interview with the Associated Press, Cinader revealed that he frequently worked on episodes that had already been drafted by the writers of the series.

"The scripts are never good enough," said Cinader. "That is to say, they're not right enough. I have in my head the only image of Emergency! that exists. Because of human nature, no one can come as close to that concept as I can. I don't judge a script by whether it's good or bad. I judge it by whether it meets my concept."

That certainly meant a great deal of extra effort from Cinader, of course. Luckily, he was amiable about the process, for the most part. "I say if it takes me only three hours to fix a script I love the writer," said Cinader. "If it takes me 13 hours, I'm not too happy. If it takes me 20 hours, I'll never use that writer again."

I was bummed when MeTV replaced "Adam-12" with "Emergency" in the 5pm to 6pm time slot, even though I had seen every episode of Adam-12 at least a few times. Emergency just doesn't have the same appeal, although I have to admit that I'm growing a bit more fond of it. I have to admit that it's "okay", and it's much better than other TV shows that have held the same time slot... not mentioning any names, but some TV shows I once thought were kinda cool "back in the day" now seem quite lame.
