“I do already have some of the characteristics of Sophia,” said Getty during an interview with The High Point Enterprise. “I’ve always had a lot of mouth.”

“At the beginning, it was hard to adapt from stage to television,” said Getty. “But three women were helping me all the way.”
The life of an actor was laborious, a fact Getty certainly understood.
“Mostly, you’re unemployed,” said Getty. “You’re only in a state of grace when you’re working,” said Getty. “I won the brass ring when I got The Golden Girls. I don’t mind getting typecast. I would like for The Golden Girls to run for a long time, I want to be rich.”
