Look, we've all got favorites. Whether we want to admit it or not, we know straight away our pick in a bunch. Now, sometimes, certain situations aren't appropriate for preferences. After all, it's no good to have a favorite kid. People look at you funny when you go around talking about loving your oldest more than the other ones.

But, most of the time, deep down, we favor some things over others. 

While Chuck Jones stopped short of naming a favorite Looney Tunes character, he did seem to relate to one more closely than others. In his autobiography, Chuck Amuck: The Life and Times of an Animated Cartoonist, Jones made explicit which cartoon character he held dearest.

*Ahem* Drumroll please...

"That, of course, is Daffy Duck."

Jones was so fond of Daffy that he dedicated an entire chapter of Chuck Amuck to the making of "Duck Dodgers in the 24 1/2 Century". This is, of course, the famous space-age toon in which Daffy Duck parodies Buck Rogers. 

In Jones' opinion, Daffy had the humor and the soul to set him apart from his pictorial peers. While Bugs is funny, Daffy has more "character" and more identifiable traits that make his possible actions obvious in a script.

Daffy is always the small-timer, and he'll do anything, step over anyone, crush anybody's dreams to get to the top. In some ways, he's like Barney Fife, with his penchant for unearned confidence and his knack for stations he just shouldn't be involved in.
