Maureen McCormick on why she doesn't like to watch The Brady Bunch
The actor wasn't a fan of reruns.
Everyone loves a good trip down memory lane, but some people are careful not to reminisce, for fear that they may get stuck in the past.
While Brady Bunch fans would love to spend hours marathoning the series, one of the show's stars has said that she has absolutely no interest in watching old episodes.
During an interview with the Palm Beach Post, Maureen McCormick, who played Marcia Brady, said she doesn't like to rewatch episodes of her old series. "I've never been a fan of really sitting in front of the T.V. and watching it myself," she said. "If I've seen it once, I've seen it and I want to move on."
Her lack of interest in binge-watching the series isn't due to any ill will toward her old co-stars. McCormick said that she has nothing but fond memories of her television family.
"It's the people that were the highlight for me," said McCormick. "We had an amazing bond between each other, like a real family. I couldn't have fallen into a better group of people. It was interesting...I had three brothers and never had sisters, but it was really wonderful to have two sisters on TV."
McCormick also said that she understands fans' desire to revisit The Brady Bunch, as the show provided a sort of escapism into an idealized reality.
"It was a great show to be a part of, that made so many people so happy," she said. "There's not much in this world that helps you escape, that is free and healthy."
