Ryan Gosling to star as Lee Majors' role in Fall Guy movie
Who will be the definitive Colt Seavers?
Turns out... He's not just Ken, after all.
In great news for anyone who loves hunks: a great, hunk-y baton has been handed from one hunk to another, more modern hunk.
Ryan Gosling, recently of world-conquering Barbie fame, will be starring in a feature-length film adaptation of the '80s action-adventure series The Fall Guy. He will be playing the incredibly cool-named Colt Seavers, as made famous by Lee Majors. Majors, of course, is also beloved by classic TV fans for his work on shows like The Big Valley and The Six Million Dollar Man.
Per The Hollywood Reporter: "The Fall Guy follows Gosling’s Colt Seavers, a stuntman who left the business for his mental and physical health, only to be drawn back into it when the star of a studio movie directed by his ex, Jody (Emily Blunt), goes missing, and she asks for his help."
The movie's official description says that Gosling will be playing "a stuntman, and like everyone in the stunt community, he gets blown up, shot, crashed, thrown through windows, and dropped from the highest of heights, all for our entertainment."
But, obviously, this is a movie, so Colt Seavers doesn't just go through his daily routine on a big screen. There's got to be conflict!
"Fresh off an almost career-ending accident, this working-class hero has to track down a missing movie star, solve a conspiracy, and try to win back the love of his life while still doing his day job. What could possibly go right?”
So, what do you think, dear reader? Will the movie pay respectful homage and bring the property to new viewers to celebrate the originals? Or will it crash and burn on arrival?
