Despite what you may have heard, making a movie isn't always fun. Like any job, it's a lot of work; sometimes, you just can't get along with your coworkers.

John Anthony Hayes co-starred in the 1964 William Castle film, Strait-Jacket. The horror film also starred Joan Crawford and Diane Baker. Years later, Hayes confessed that he deeply enjoyed working on the film...for the most part.

"Making Strait-Jacket was a ball," said Hayes, according to an article for the Orlando Sentinel. "I don't mind playing the lightweight, nor did I mind playing opposite such a lovely co-star as Carol [Baker]. She's a talented and beautiful actress. The rest of the cast was great to work with, too."

Hayes had just one issue with Strait-Jacket: The film's star, Joan Crawford.

"However, Joan [Crawford] was something else again," said Hayes. "Even in the twilight of her career, she could be a pain. I tried to warm up to her between takes, but she just ignored me. There was even a time when she tripped across some kind of wire or something. I grabbed her by the arm before she fell, and all I got was a cold stare. Maybe her cold and arrogant attitude at the time was a cover for her declining career. I don't know."

Still, Hayes was adamant that overall, his experience working on the film was a positive one.

"All in all, Strait-Jacket may not have been one of the best films ever made, but it certainly wasn't one of the worst. And I did manage to keep my head during filming."
