This collection proves that Ozzie is the man for all things He-Man!

Aug. 17, 2025

Ozzie is the master of Masters of the Universe and the man for He-Man collectibles. For him, having a Masters of the Universe collection makes him feel like the most important man in the universe.

Whether you knew He-Man or not, this collection is filled with nostalgic fun. His collection includes rare figures, dioramas, and many other pieces. It took him 40 years to complete what he has today, and it’s still growing.

For Ozzie, this collection fuels his fandom and passion for the line. He has taken Masters of the Universe and created a universe of his own. Take a look!

1. Test Market He-Man 8-Backs

These figures include He-Man, Skeletor, and Man-At-Arms — the first three figures released in the original 1982 toy line.

These are test-market figures, released to see how they would sell. We now know the answer, but these were the first figures that started it all.

According to Ozzie, these are very rare figures. They are sealed in a box, and one is graded. He bought them after a long search as they became available.

According to our expert, these three figures would be worth about $27,000 today. Ozzie has mastered this Masters of the Universe collection.

2. He-Man & Battle Cat Gift Set

This is one of the very first gift sets, or combo sets, ever made for Masters of the Universe.

The set is unique because it was one of the first times a figure was paired with a creature or vehicle. Usually, these items were sold separately, but this is a nice two-for-one deal.

He-Man and Battle Cat are some of the most well-known characters. One interesting feature is the artwork on the box — it made the set easy to sell and visually appealing.

According to our expert, this set is valuable because it’s hard to find today, especially in the condition Ozzie has. It would be worth around $10,000 today.

Battle Cat approved!

3. Hordak & Grizzlor Gift Set

This is another combo gift set that really speaks for itself — literally. It features Hordak and Grizzlor, members of the Evil Horde, a subset of villains alongside Skeletor.

It’s a very unique set because it was the only one ever packaged with a cassette tape. The combo pairing was extremely hard to find until he discovered this one at a Comic-Con. Part of his favorite aspect of collecting is the hunt.

According to the expert, this set would be worth around $11,000 today. Bad guys, but not a bad deal.

4. Evil Horde Gift Sets

These Evil Horde sets are just three of six, and they are very rare.

Ozzie hasn’t been able to find the other three — and he’s a collector who loves the thrill of the hunt!

According to the expert, they would be worth around $30,000 today. This collection is truly villain-ous… in the best way!

Do you recognize these iconic characters?

5. Set of Preternia Dinosaurs

These are dinosaurs from Masters of the Universe. Toward the end of the toy line, the makers took a Hail Mary and added dinos to the universe.

The line did not take off, and these were the only three pieces that ever came out. Ozzie learned to love them, even though as a kid he wasn’t a big fan.

He acquired these through various toy shows, and they are rare because they didn’t last long.

One collector’s trash is another’s treasure. These sets are still sealed in the box, which is important here at Collectors’ Call. Despite not being very popular, they remain part of Masters of the Universe history.

Today, these sets would be worth around $4,000 all together. They are a modern-day prehistoric score.

6. In-box Eternia Playset

While Ozzie didn’t have this playset as a kid, he’s making up for lost time now.

This is the Eternia playset, the largest playset ever released in the Masters of the Universe line.

This one is factory sealed and graded, and it’s one of only five or six in existence. It’s very rare because of that. Not only does he have one, but he has two complete sets — and they both work.

It’s a centerpiece for any collector’s display because it combines good and evil.

According to our expert, there are so many parts to this set that finding a complete one is nearly impossible. But Ozzie is the Man for He-Man.

Today, this playset would be worth around $25,000.
