Posted on January 26, 2013

Universal's two terror headliners face off tonight on Me-TV -in an eerie tale of deceit and devil-worship-as Boris Karloff tries to hide his secrets from Bela Lugosi, while planning some nasty business for an injured honeymooning bride in "The Black Cat"! When Bela,a prisoner of war, returns from military prison, to his devastated homeland, he meets a newly-married couple - but a road accident requires them all to seek help at the home of Karloff, in a former military fortress.Bela must face many obstacles-his phobia of black cats, his quest to discover what became of the family he left behind, and Karloff's sinister plans- in this 1934 film that was the first to team the two horror icons. This film is known for being one of the most unique and bizarre horror films of the 30s- and was even banned in some countries! The set design- and Boris' new wave haircut- set this film apart from all other early Universal horror flicks! "The Black Cat' prowls tonight on Svengoolie-at 10 pm eastern, 9 pm central, etc. on Me-TV. In Chicago, Sven fans can catch a replay of "Cult of the Cobra" on WCIU-the U- at 11 am. The big C2E2 comics and entertainment convention returns to Chicago this spring- will Sven have recovered enough to make an appearance?Check back for details!
