Carradine Shouldn’t Unwrap Before Xmas- ” Mummy’s Ghost” Tonight!

They always say "don't unwrap before Xmas"- and that's good advice for John Carradine, who takes charge of the living mummy Kharis in tonight's Sven movie- "The Mummy's Ghost"!

An aged high priest recruits yet another follower of Kharis to take over his position- one Yousef Bay- and reveals all the secrets of Kharis' origin and the tanna leaf method of keeping him alive. He wants Yousef Bay to return Kharis and his beloved princess to their ancestral tomb- which means a trip to the USA, where the Mummy and his mummified love  are currently located.

In the USA, a college professor is discovering the secret of the tanna leaf potion-  while one of his students,Tom, tries to figure out why his girlfriend, Amina, a beauty with Egyptian roots, feels weird whenever the topic of Egypt comes up! One  full-mooned night, the professor has the potion figured out and brew it up- which draws the Mummy, who senses his favorite tanna leaf tea- and attacks! Meanwhile, lovely Amina has been sleep-walking, encounters Kharis and collapses!

When the authorities examine the professor after the attack- they recognize some familiar mold on his body- familiar from the previous  reign of terror of the embalmed enemy. When Yousef Bay arrives and summons the Mummy, the horrible deaths begin again- and after Kharis visits the museum to find his beloved-with disastrous results-it appears  his dear Ananka's soul has been transferred to someone else- placing the lovely Amina and her protective boyfriend in grave danger!

This 1944 entry in the Mummy series features Lon Chaney Jr again under the bandages- with the great John Carradine as Yousef Bay! This is the follow up to "Mummy's Tomb" , and don't look for any explanation of where Kharis was between that movie and this one! We'll provide info about the actors, etc, and, of course, a healthy dosage of Sven stuff!

"Mummy's Ghost" appears tonight on Me-TV at 10 pm eastern and pacific, 9 pm central, and please check for the airtime in your area. Meanwhile, in Chicago, "Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein" gets  an encore on WCIU, the U, at 11 am!
