Farewell to Radio George

Posted on February 17, 2020

I just heard that blog commenter Radio George passed away. Please send our condolences to his wife Nancy.  He is another victim of heart disease, like myself- I was fortunate to make it past a cardiac arrest that only 7% survive. Please take our advice to have regular check-ups. Yes, sometimes there are no symptoms-  and nothing can be done-but for your family and friends’ sake-  please take care.  RIP George. Thanks for being a part of the Sven universe.

I am still a fan but can no longer watch your show because Spectrum dropped you for another cop show. Do you have any information about future streaming ?

2 years ago I went through heart surgery. Please pass along my condolences to his family. To everyone else...it's an easy thing to ask your doc to get checked out. It takes nothing, but it may save your loved ones a lot of heartache.

I did screenshots of Sven’s “Farewell to Radio George” blog, the comments made to it, and the comments made on the regular week’s blog, and sent them to George’s wife, Nancy. She was touched by the outpouring of love for him.

She wanted me to pass along these thoughts.

Thank you !  I was hoping to see these. He knew everyone enjoyed the jokes, his wonderful wit. Thank you to all who posted!

Let everyone know RadioGeorge will come down ‪next Sunday‬  there will just be a note of farewell on the screen. I could not find anyone who would take it. It was a labor of love from my magical George.

Every year George volunteered with the Bob Woodruff Foundation and we've asked donations to go there. Their work supports wounded military.

Their website is ‪www.bobwoodrufffoundation.org‬.

Mention George Kaywood in the comments. They send me a note for each donation.

Rich- thank you so much for posting this tribute & reminder to take care of ourselves & the ones we love. My dad passed away in his early 60's from a heart attack. Thankfully, I do not have that in my wheelbarrow load of health issues.

Nancy- We will all miss RadioGeorge so much. We soooo looked forward to his jokes every week. They made the lead up to each movie such fun! Thank you for loaning him to us each Saturday. You are in our prayers.

Bloggers- You are a kind and gentle group, really truly. Like siblings, we can squabble amongst ourselves but we all stick together when the going gets tough. Give yourself an extra hug from me this weekend. Thank you for letting me be myself and loving me in spite of it. Best, dh

Rich, what a truly thoughtful and caring thing you have done through your post. I am deeply saddened by our loss of George. He was inspiring and admirable, and the Svengoolie Family is less without him. Nancy, I pray for you during this time of sadness.

I was only 9 when my father unexpectedly died at the age of 48. He was otherwise healthy, but had a cardiac arrest while out jogging. Heart disease, it ain't no joke.

My heart hurts so bad for all the wonderful souls we have lost in just these first 1 1/2 months of 2020! More of a reader of the blog than participant, it still hurts. Love and peace to all.

Thanks, I just heard. This blog just won't be the same without him. He can up with more jokes and made more laughs then I ever could. You know I've so may friends of my fellow bloggers die but it hurts most when I knew. For whatever respond I'm going back on some old blog and liking all this comments. For whatever reason it make me feel better. He will be miss.

Sven/Rich, I’m a newbie here but for the short time I’ve been posting on this blog I can see the family-like connections between everyone here and I feel like a close friend has been taken from us. My prayers and thoughts to George’s wife and family. Very sad indeed. Everyone do yourself a health favor and get the simple non-invasive ultrasound exam of your primary arteries (neck, groin & thighs) so you know about potential problems.👍
