Frank Invades “Furry February”-and Meets the Wolf Man!

Following up last week's "Wolf Man"- we get a sequel that brings Larry talbot face to face with the Monster in "Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man"! Years after his death,Talbot is revived accidentally by grave robbers- and still has the curse of transforming during the full moon. He goes searching for the old gypsy woman, Maleeva, in hopes that she can help him-and she suggests that they go find the great Dr. Frankenstein, who had done many wondrous things (I don't think she knew about him creating a monster!) Arriving in the doctor's old village, they learn the truth about the late doctor- and, in the remains of his castle-discover his infamous creation!Talbot searches for the doctor's lost notes, meeting Frankenstein's daughter along the way- but the Monster has a bad habit of roaming the village- and soon both a werewolf and the undying Monster create havoc! This 1943 film was also supposed to be a sequel to "Ghost of Frankenstein"- in which Ygor (Bela Lugosi) had his brain implanted in the Monster- but his blood mismatch caused the Monster to go blind! Lugosi plays the Monster in this film, and originally spoke in his Ygor voice and continued to be blind-But studio execs, worried about the reactions at a sneak preview, decided to remove all the Monster's dialogue, as well as any indication that he was blind! Of course, we get Lon Chaney Jr. repeating his character of Larry Talbot-the role he truly owned. And-yes- this is the film with the cheesy mustachioed guy singing "Fa-Lo-La-Fa-Lo-Lee" (some refer to it as "Fa-Ro-La"...maybe that's right...)! "Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man" runs on Me-TV tonight at 10 pm eastern, 9 pmn central, etc.(check your local listings for exact time in your area)-as "Furry February" continues. In Chicago, you can catch the encore of "Wolf Man" at 11 am on WCIU-the U!
