“Freddy Krueger” Talk Show- During “Monster and the Girl” Tonight!

Posted on September 27, 2014

It's a new show tonight on Me-TV- with a lot of excitement- as we bring you highlights of this summer's memorable live  on-stage talk show at "Flashback Weekend" headlined by Robert Englund in his full Freddy Krueger make-up for the last time?!- and it's all wrapped around a beastly brain-transplant tale- "Monster and the Girl"!

The movie starts out as a trial is nearing its end- with a young man framed for murder, but unable to prove his innocence . He had hit the big city to find the man who led his small-town sister down a dastardly path and into a tawdry life-only to have the gangsters involved put him on the spot for a hit!

The poor guy ends up headed for the chair- but a mysterious doctor gives him a last minute jail-house offer- to allow his brain to be used in some ground-breaking experimentation after his demise!

His brain is indeed used in a bizarre operation- and is installed into- an ape! While the doctor waits for signs of any recollection of the brain donor's past- the gorilla does indeed recall a great deal- and, before long- the mobsters who mistreated the deceased man's sister are fearing for their lives!

This is an unusual film, and among its cast we find George Zucco, in a role he knows well- the scientist with "unusual" goals- and Charles Gemorra in a role he knows well- as the gorilla! We'll go over the cast with you, and- talk to a whole different cast- alumni of the "Nightmare" Elm Street movies, including the definitive Freddy Krueger himself- Robert Englund, wearing the incredible make-up designed and affixed to him for this event by Robert Kurtzman! This was a lot of fun , and a great honor for me to do- and we're hoping to put the full interviews up here on our site soon. Along with Robert, who's a great storyteller, as you will see- we get to chat with Freddy's first on-screen victim- Amanda Wyss- and the last woman to face (and behead!) Robert's Freddy- Monica Keena; along with notable "Nightmare" players Ronee Blakely, Jennifer Rubin, and Robert Russler! We've got the highlights of the talk show for you- and we think you'll be in agreement with us that all these kind and talented people made this a great time for all who attended, and generously helped raise funds for the Midway Drive-In's digital projection conversion!

It all happens tonight on Me-TV starting at 10 pm eastern and pacific time, 9 pm central, or- check your local listings for time in your area! In Chicago, local viewers get another look at "Black Cat" at 11 am on WCIU, the U!

A quick thanks to those who listened and sent your appreciation for my visit with Bill and Wendy at WGN radio yesterday- and, be prepared for some online radio fun when I visit with Garry Meier on Tuesday- details posted soon!

Hope you enjoy tonight's show- and- keep checking back here - and under our "appearances" tab on this site- for updates!
