Herman Hits the Road in “Munster Go Home”-Tonight!

We've got a TV cult favorite tonight on Me-TV- as we witness the Munster Family- in full color- heading across the pond to England to claim an inheritance- and meeting some resistance from both relatives and family foes, who share the cry of "Munster Go Home"!

The beloved family with more than a slight resemblance to some classic Universal monsters discovers that Herman has inherited the family estate in Britain- as well as the title of "Lord Munster"! They board an ocean liner to head for the traditional family manor- with some shipboard antics, and niece Marilyn meeting a dashing young Englishman with  good taste in cars- and young ladies!

The Munsters arrive at Munster hall, where the relatives who reside there, including dastardly cousin Freddie,are dead set against these motley American cousins taking over  their home- and they scheme to scare the Munsters off- if not worse! Meanwhile, Marilyn happens upon the family of  her shipboard Romeo, only to find they are the sworn enemies of the local Munster clan. It becomes apparent that the only way that Herman can redeem his family's good name is to enter - and win -the yearly road race and defeat the opposing family!

This 1966 big screen adventure of the Munsters is notable for giving viewers a look at the characters in technicolor- as well as being the original showcase for the famed "Drag-u-la" hot rod designed for the movie and TV show by George Barris. Be prepared for not only the TV cast, but also yet another Marilyn- and a slew of familiar TV and movie faces- we'll point many of them out to you! Plus- we go in search of where the Munsters may have parked their car- at one of our favorite auto museums.

"Munster Go Home" comes into your home (or wherever!) on Me-TV tonight at 10 pm eastern/pacific, 9 pm central, or, if you're unsure, check our local listings for the time in your area. In Chicago, viewers get one more look at "The Land Unknown" - as well as the famed Jim Cornette Svengoolie Burger Challenge- at 11 am on our sister station, WCIU, the U!
