Horror Great Karloff;Comedy Greats Bud and Lou = “Abbott and Costello Meet Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde” Tonight!

For all of you who keep asking for Abbott and Costello, we start off our themed month of June- "the Doctor is In- SANE!" with a classic doctor whose obsessions, coupled with his frightening discovery, somehow involves him with a dippy duo- it's "Abbott and Costello Meet Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde"!

Bud and Lou are doing their best to be part of British law enforcement- but a dust-up at a suffragette rally gets them bounced from the force. One good thing that comes of the rally is the meeting of a handsome newspaper man with a lovely entertainer- who happens to be the ward of the esteemed Dr. Jekyll! The doctor doesn't appreciate the attention the newsman pays to his beloved ward- and uses the horrifying formula he has invented to unleash the evil side of human nature to transform himself into the murderous Mr. Hyde- and eliminate anyone who stands in the way of his possession of the young woman as his bride!

Meanwhile, the two ex-bobbies decide they can redeem themselves by tracking down and capturing the murderous madman on the loose in London- and are soon playing hide and seek with the Hyde they seek!

This 1953 monster meet-up is distinguished by the appearance of the great Boris Karloff as Dr. Jekyll, along with Craig Stevens as the newspaperman.We'll tell you more about the cast, and the make-up- including who exactly was under it in some scenes! Plus- some scenes will be redone in Svensurround (outside of the movie)...

"Abbott and Costello Meet Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" runs on Me-TV tonight at 10 pm eastern and pacific, 9 pm central, and please check your local listings for when it will appear in your time zone. In Chicago, Sven fans get a second look at "The Mummy's Curse"- with lots of Sven shtick to fill in for the short movie- at 11 am on WCIU, the U.
