I Didn’t See That Coming- “Invisible Man’s Revenge” Tonight!

Posted on August 15, 2015

More transparency and insanity are in store when MeTV unleashes "The Invisible Man's Revenge"- tonight!

In this 1944 entry in Universal's "invisible" franchise- mentally unstable Robert Griffin has made his way to the mansion of his former partners, the Herricks, whom he feels abandoned him in a dangerous situation. He demands his cut of the wealth they established from their expedition-and longs to marry the couple's daughter Julie. The Herricks try to tell him that the fortune from the diamond fields they discovered is gone, and that they thought he had been killed- but he's not buying it. They find a way to sedate Griffin, and, while he's unconscious, find their original agreement paper among his effects, and remove him from their estate. Fortunately for Griffin, he is found by a shifty local, who , upon hearing his tale, takes a trip to the Herrick estate to try a little blackmail- but is shut down by the local constable.

Griffin is out wandering on a stormy night when he happens upon the home of  a scientist- who has been experimenting with  invisibility- but is lacking a human  subject to try it on. Griffin volunteers- thinking this may be the perfect weapon to gain revenge. He begins his scheme- and, while  he is having some success- he also is faced by the need to become visible again- with dangerous consequences!

This film  has lots of familiar actors- with Jon Hall, Leon Errol, Evelyn Ankers, Gale Sondergaard, and, of course, the great John Carradine among them- and we are again treated to the cinema invisibility effects we've come to expect from these films (along with the usual glitches here and there!) We'll talk about these subjects , and more, as well as providing the usual Sven-tertainment in this "Vintage Vault" selection.

"Invisible Man's Revenge" is on MeTV tonight at 10 pm eastern/pacific, 9 central, or check for time in your area. Chicago gets a second look at Bela and Boris in "The Raven" at 11 am on WCIU-the U !

Thanks to the many Sven fans who attended our events at Flashback Weekend! We were also very flattered to again meet several celebrities who are fans of the show-including Stuart Gordon, famous for films like "From Beyond", "Castle Freak", and the "Re-Animator" films- another Chicago guy made good- as well as his wife, actress Carolyn Purdy-Gordon.  He actually told me he became interested in making horror films from watching my original show! Unbelievable.

You'll have the chance to meet Sven alter ego Rich Koz and help support rhino preservation next Thursday night at the Diversey River Bowl in Chicago- when the Brookfield Zoo and Lincoln Park Zoo AAZK groups combine for "Bowling for Rhinos"- always a fun night, with food, bowling, silent auctions of great stuff, and the chance to meet ECW/WWE/ NXT wrestling superstar Rhyno! You can attend as a bowler or non-bowler- tickets are available for both- and the proceeds go to protect rhinos and their habitats, and fight the poaching which endangers them. You'll find more info under the "appearances" tag here on our site.Come on out for a great time!

Our fall Halloween tour is pretty close to being locked in- details will be available soon.

Meanwhile, join us tonight on MeTV for invisible vengeance! And- MeTV again invites you to live Tweet on Twitter during the show-  use the hashtag  #svengoolie .
