“It’s Alive!” Meet Sven at C2E2 Saturday!

Well, it's finally going to happen- my first public appearance since the Halloween season (and-ahem- the heart attack season, unfortunately...) when I return to the C2E2 comics and entertainment convention at McCormick Place on Chicago's beautiful lakefront! Yes, there's a charge to get in, just like at most other conventions- but, I will be signing for free (probably limited to one autograph per person, if the line is anything like the usual- I do provide our free color autograph picture card). You can also snap a photo with me! I will only be signing from 4:15 to 6 pm at table 12 (that might be subject to change)on Saturday- and you might want to get in line early just to make sure we get to meet! Here's a really nice article about C2E2 and my involvement. This is always a fun convention, loaded with both comic artist stars and other comics names,plus great entertainment guests, lots of merchandise dealers, and- plenty of cosplayers- fans who dress up as various comics and movie and TV characters! I'm happy to say that my good friend super-artist Alex Ross will be doing a rare appearance on Saturday as well- if you see him, tell him Sven says hi! Another person you can give my greetings to is actress Janina Gavankar- she grew up in our area, and I'm a big fan of her work in "The Gates" and "True Blood"- tell her Sven is a big fan (hey- she may even know who I am!) Sadly, word has come down that Adam West will NOT be able to appear due to a medical issue- but Burt Ward and Julie Newmar will be there- as well an actual "Dr. Who"- Peter Davison!Plus, some "Walking Dead" cast members and more! Make sure you visit my pal Steve Gadlin at table C5 in "artist alley"- he's the guy who was on "Shark Tank" and convinced Mark Cuban to back his project- "I Want to Draw a Cat for You"!...and, yes, you can get him to draw a cat for you. Other Sven pals include Jill Thompson, Sal Abbinanti, and Lisa Marie Varon -TNA's Tara- and others too numerous to mention!If you visit with them, make sure you let them know you're a Sven fan!

I'm hoping I'll make it through this event just fine- let's face it, this is the longest I've been "out of circulation" in a long time- and I hope I'm physically up to the challenge. I know I'll be  energized by seeing the loyal Sven fans who are nice enough to stop by- and I hope you'll be among them!
