Meet Sven- at the Farm or the Museum!

Posted on September 17, 2014

The Svengoolie Halloween season public appearance tour is ready to kick off! Though we try to keep it from being to hectic, in order to avoid any further cardiac mayhem for yours truly, we are giving you ample chances to come visit me- with a variety of events and venues!

The first opportunity comes this Sunday- at a location that's new to us, and bound to be fun for the entire family- it's Siegel's Cottonwood Farm Pumpkin Patch! Located in Crest Hill, this is a great way to kick off your Halloween season- it's a real 4th generation working farm, with special events every season- and, for fall, it's harvest -and Halloween- time! You can take a hay ride, feed and pet farm animals ,pick your own pumpkin, try out the Wrigley Field 100th anniversary corn maze, experience zombie paintball, try the great food available-and more!

You can meet me from noon to 2 pm! (Please note- other times may be listed for my appearance elsewhere, but, I assure you- I'm there from noon to 2 pm!) I'll be signing autographs  and taking pictures with you, and, right now, the weather forecast indicates that it should be a very pleasant day- so, come on out for a fun day on the farm! You'll find more information at  www.ourpumpkinfarm.com

Chicago's Museum of Broadcast Communications is honoring me at a very special event on Friday evening, October 10th, at the museum at 360 N. State Street in downtown Chicago. It's being called "An Evening with Rich Koz- Celebrating  35 years as Svengoolie"- and, yes, I first appeared as the Sven character 35 years ago, though my involvement with the character goes back even further!

The evening will kick off with a special private reception which I'll be attending (check the museum website for information on tickets)- and the public event kicks off at 7 pm with some special remarks and presentations: there will be a special on-stage interview with me- then the unveiling of a new ‘Svengoolie’ exhibit featuring my original coffin and artifacts from the original set! (This will be a permanent exhibit- and we're proud that we'll be alongside  momentos of such local classics as Bozo's Circus, Bill Jackson's BJ and Dirty Dragon!) Also-everyone is encouraged to come in costume- there'll be a costume contest, so make sure you're suited up in your Halloween best (are we taking any bets that there will be people dressed as Sven that night?) we'll wind up the night with the showing of a special - and appropriate-Sven show movie, complete with some segments in "Svensurround"!

This is a great honor for me- and I hope you can join me there to share it! You can get all the information at the museum website- at www.museum.tv

Hopefully, I'll be seeing you there- or at one of our other Halloween stops- all of which will eventually be listed under our "appearances" tab on this site- so, please check there every so often! And, check back here  on Saturday for a few words about this week's Sven show!
