Mid-Week Warning of Events Coming Up!

Posted on March 29, 2016

We just wanted to remind you of one upcoming March event, and leave word on the first event coming up in April- so you have time now to make plans if you wish!

It's that time of year again for the Brookfield Zoo AAZK Spaghetti Dinner on Thursday, March 31st! This is always a fun evening, with a full pasta meal, drinks available, with music, various animal raffle and auction items, and, this year, the chance to see an actual raptor bird live and in person! As is the custom, I'll be there from 5:30 to 7 pm for autographs and photos. I understand that the zoo actually has a limited supply of rubber chickens available for sale for me to autograph for you- if you're one of the many people who has had trouble finding a rubber chicken, which, thanks to our show, are as rare as hen's .....uh...whatever in this area, here's your chance to finally own one- and have it signed as well! Treat yourself and come earlier so you can enjoy one of the nation's top zoos during its hours of operation before the event! Proceeds  from the dinner benefit two animal preservation organizations this year- as in the past, the Vital Ground Foundation- which protects and preserves land for grizzly bears and other wildlife; and , this year-the Illinois Raptor Center-which rehabilitates orphaned and injured wildlife to allow them to be returned to the wild. Every year, we've helped the AAZK to raise sizable amounts for the animal preservation organizations- and it's our mission to do the same this year, with your help. Please join us at Brookfield Zoo in Brookfield, IL . Tickets will be available at the door- or at www.brookfieldaazk.org  A word of warning- this event HAS sold out in the past!

On to April- and, on this Saturday night, the 2nd, it's time for Rich Koz ( not-so-secret identity of Svengoolie) to make another appearance at the yearly "Raising the Roof" event at St. William's Parish, 2559 N. Sayre in Chicago.  Koz appeared  a few years ago, and it would appear the statute of limitations has run out by now! This annual benefit for the parish is now in its 10th year ( as St. William's heads into its 100th year in the fall!)- and , as usual , it features dinner, drinks, a raffle and auction,  comedy entertainment, and , as has become the yearly tradition, several local media personalities dropping by. Saturday night, the  doors  will open at 6 pm, and Rich Koz is set to take the stage for an interview from 7:30-8 pm. You can get tickets in advance or at the door- either way, you're helping out the parish, for which they will be grateful!. For information, call the parish at (773) 637-6565. Just make sure you set a recording for the Sven show on MeTV!

And- of course- come back here on Saturday for  a preview of this week's program!
