Radio-active This Thursday!

Just a brief blog note- my longtime friends Bill Leff and Wendy Snyder have asked me to join them  (during their new afternoon drive time slot) to discuss the October 31st- Halloween 2014-"Svengoolie/Rich Koz Day" proposal recently passed by the state of Illinois! I'll be on with them at about 6:05 pm central time. WGN is a clear channel radio station, so you may just be able to hear us around the country.

(Speaking of that special day- I was honored to get a message from the great Bill Jackson,of "BJ and Dirty Dragon" and "Gigglesnort Hotel" fame, congratulating me on the honor- and, believe me, what an honor to get the kind words of a real TV icon, a man I consider a great influence, a mentor, and a friend. any praise form him is high praise indeed!)

As I've mentioned, I've known both the OTHER Bill and Wendy for many years, and even appeared with them back when they first teamed up on radio, and we always have a great time. We may actually be in that "showcase studio" with the windows out by Michigan Avenue,so you very possibly may be able to come by and  watch the broadcast if you're in the neighborhood.Don't be surprised if I'm in the guise of  my "secret identity"...

Just a quick note- if you have a question or problem with an order of Sven merchandise- please contact the e-mail address you'll find on your order confirmation- contacting me does not help. I don't fulfill orders, or even see them, for that matter, so I can't really help. If you're not sure who to contact, you can always go to www.metvnetwork.com and use the contact e-mail there.

Also- as much as we'd like to- we can't let you know if and when something you sent in will appear on the air- we don't have enough staff working with us to do so. We also get hundreds of e-mails, drawings and photos every week- and, though I do see them all and enjoy them- we can't possible show all of them on air. And, no- we don't mention birthdays. I learned my lesson on that years ago, back at that other station, when the weekly number of birthday names got to number over one hundred. (Yes, possibly some of those names were just people who wanted to hear their name on TV, birthday or not!) Regardless, sorry,we can't do birthdays- nor can we just do simple "shout-outs"- if you hope to have your name mentioned, you need to send us something noteworthy, whether it's a photo, drawing, or comment- make a contribution to the show, in some way. Not many viewers want to sit through Sven reading a list of names- there isn't a lot of entertainment value in that. It's kind of like some of the graduation ceremonies that take place this time of year- it's great to hear the name of YOUR graduate, but sitting through the vast number of other names? You get the idea.

We love hearing from all of you, all over the country- we love getting the things you send us and show us- and we do wish that we could get all of them on the air. It means a lot to us that you get in touch with us, and we appreciate that you're out there for us. In no way do we want you to feel that, just because we didn't get to show your picture or mention your name, that we don't appreciate your support.
