Say What?! Halloween is Officially “Svengoolie/Rich Koz Day” in Illinois!

I am so very flattered and honored that the state of Illinois has seen fit to declare Halloween- October 31, 2014- officially as "Svengoolie/Rich Koz Day" in this state!

We were first surprised with this news at the big Jim Cornette event at Lisa Marie Varon's Squared Circle restaurant in Chicago's Lincoln Park area last month. (What a coincidence- you'll see Jim take on the "Svengoolie Burger Challenge" during thsi Saturday night's show! but- that's tomorrow's blog...) Our fan and dear friend  Brian Bernardoni took the mike after the challenge had ended, and read the official statement that would be read in Springfield to introduce the proposal. I had no idea where he was going as he read through the document- and was pretty well floored when he got to the end! It all didn't seem real to me- and, I kept thinking, I don't want to get too excited about this- it may not happen- but Brian seemed pretty certain it would pass.

And, indeed it did- as brought up in the legislative session by State representative Kay Hatcher- the proposal was adopted yesterday in Springfield!The news started to travel fast- one of my coworkers sent me an e-mail in the late afternoon that no less than Carol Marin had mentioned the news on NBC5! And it's starting to make the rounds on various radio stations.
