That’s Not Lassie- it’s the “She-Wolf of London”- Tonight!

Posted on February 15, 2014

"Feb-U-Hairy" brings you a sweetheart who somehow missed Valentine's Day yesterday-as  well as the full moon last night- it's the "She-Wolf of London"!

(ATTENTION: Commenters who know this movie- NO SPOILERS, PLEASE!!!)

In Victorian-era London, a series of murderous attacks in a park are in the news, with some authorities having conflicting opinions, since some think the culprit may be a werewolf! We meet the lovely Phyllis, who is engaged to Barry, a young lawyer- and , while out horse-back riding in said park, they encounter some policemen from Scotland Yard investigating the scene of the latest murder. This upsets Phyllis for some reason that will soon be revealed. Meanwhile, at the mansion she resides in, we meet her cousin Carol and her aunt Martha, who are currently at odds about the artist whom the lovely cousin is dating.Martha feels he is a penniless commoner!Martha also reveals previously hidden secrets  regarding Phyllis' family connections to an astonished Carol.

The attacks in the park continue- and, as evidence appears, we learn that Phyllis believes they may be the result of her inheriting a family curse! She begins to shun her fiance, and tries to take nightly precautions but- soon, lurking in the fog...

This 1946 film is not really a sequel to the original "Werewolf of London", which was released about eleven years before this movie- but "She-Wolf' creates that eerie atmosphere that so many Universal chillers caught so well. We'll tell you about the stars, especially Phyllis, portrayed  at the time by future TV icon June Lockhart, as  well as her familiar co-stars. We also make a connection between the werewolf flicks whose stories seem to originate in England and another popular British character- and, of course, there are some catchy Sven songs regarding this film.

But, wait! There's more! This movie is somewhat under the usual run time of a typical Sven feature- so, we've added in a healthy portion of bonus Sven material, including some seldom seen classic bits (some rather timely), for your entertainment!
