The Sven Halloween Season Tour Continues!

Posted on October 19, 2012

As we get closer to Halloween- our schedule becomes more hectic- but, it’s a good kind of hectic! We get to meet so many of our Sven fans at various locations, and it’s always a great time – for me, as well as you! Tonight, we visit one of our regular stops- Brookfield Zoo, which is right in the middle of its “Creatures of the Night” celebration- I’ll be there from 7 to 9 pm tonight, I believe in the Discovery Center, signing autographs and posing for pictures with you! PLEASE- if you don’t want to be left out when we have to cut the line in order to get out on time-get there a little early! There’s so much to see- including the “Xtreme Bugs at Night”- it’s like being in the movie “Deadly Mantis”! Tomorrow night, we make a special trip to Frankfort, and join in the freaky fun at Creepy Hallow- a Halloween destination with lots to do- including a haunted house known as the “Blood Shed”, a zombie paintball attraction, a haunted hayride, and more- including me, from 7 to 9 pm. We will have a limited number of Sven t-shirts and button sets for sale! You’ll find Creepy Hallow at 24405 S. La Grange Road in Frankfort (on the Fawn Landscaping property)! Then, Sunday afternoon- I’m back at the historic (and, somewhat controversial) Portage Theater- signing autographs (and we will have shirts and buttons for sale!) starting at 1 pm. At 2:30, I’ll be onstage to introduce a screening of the Tim Burton horror comedy “Beetlejuice”! The Portage is at 4050 N. Milwaukee in Chicago. I should warn you about a couple things that you need to plan on ahead of time- for one thing, the Garry Meier WGN radio live broadcast on Friday, the 26th at the Odeum in Villa Park. Yes, there will be an audience- but you need to pre-register at Garry’s page at the WGN radio website. It’s worth it- Garry and his staff will be dressed as the Munsters (the classic version, not the aborted NBC pilot version), there will be prizes and snacks, and , after the broadcast at 7 pm, the audience members get to enter the Asylum Xperiment haunted house- for free! But- YOU HAVE TO PRE-REGISTER! Otherwise, you will most likely be denied entry before the attraction’s usual open time. Also- on Sunday, the 28th- The Flashback Weekend folks have an outstanding event for you at the Muvico Theaters in Rosemont. At 4:15,you can see a special one-time only screening of “Creature from the Black Lagoon”- IN 3-D!!! I’ll be there from to 2 to 4 pm to sign autographs- we will have shirts and buttons for sale-and I’ll introduce the movie! There are also other fun things going on- check the info under the “appearances” tab on this site- but- since seating is limited, it would be wise to order your tickets ahead of time- at www.muvico.com Keep in mind- I will only be meeting those who have tickets to the event! Before I sign off- today’s “Halloween Horror of the Day” should, fittingly, be- Beetlejuice! The bizarre spirit, who calls himself a “bio-exorcist”, and can be summoned or dismissed by repeating his name three times, is a devious ghost who specializes in not only driving humans away- but also double-crossing anyone he can, living or dead! Brilliantly played by Michael Keaton, there are rumors of a sequel to the original film- but, in the meantime, the “ghost with the most” should be summoned to take the honor of hilarious “Halloween Horror of the Day”!
