Tonight- Sven LIVE (?!) in Frankfort- and -on Me-TV : the Original “Dracula”!

Posted on October 5, 2013

It's a big weekend in our Halloween season- as the Sven public appearance tour hits Frankfort, IL- and  we fill the airwaves with a true classic-  the original 1931 version of "Dracula" - starring Bela Lugosi as the sinister Count!

You certainly know the story by now- a young man named Renfield makes his treacherous  way to the Castle Dracula in the Carpathian Mountains, where he meets the strange aristocrat Count Dracula- with the good news that he has arranged for the Count to inhabit Carfax Abbey in London! Little does he realize that he will soon be driven insane and enslaved by the King of the Vampires- as he accompanies the coffin holding his master to England!

And so begins Dracula's reign of terror in London- as the number of victims grows- and the Count targets the lovely young Mina as his new bride! Only the intervention of the wily vampire hunter Dr. Van Helsing can save the populace from the undead menace!

Of course, this classic has so many amazing moments (Dracula passing through a huge spiderweb without disturbing it!) and memorable lines ("children of the night...")- and Lugosi's mannered and halting performance giving him a very unearthly aura. We've updated a few parts of the show since our previous showing- and have included a new musical number (no, NOT in the movie itself- a few Facebook users seemed confused by this...)

The classic "Dracula" airs on Me-TV tonight at 10 pm eastern and pacific- 9 pm central- and check your local listings for the  time where you reside. If you happen to reside in  or near the Frankfort IL area (or just want to make the trip- we think it's worth it!)- you can meet me at the Creepy Hallow Halloween Fun Park tonight from 7 to 9 pm! We will have Sven merchandise available, and will be happy to sign autographs and pose for pictures with you! (In view of the possibility of rain- never fear- we will be INDOORS!) For more information, please go to www.creepyhallow.com ! If you can't make this one, please check back at our "appearances" tab on this site- we will be adding more stops on our Halloween season tour shortly, as well as any last minute stuff!

If you're in the Chicago viewing area, you can  grab a second look at the "Leech Woman" this morning at 11 am on WCIU, the U!
