Upcoming Events- Featuring Sven- and Penn!

Posted on July 7, 2016

Since I've been getting some inquiries- I just wanted to mention a couple events that Sven fans may want to check out- one is ongoing right now, the other  is a yearly event you may have seen clips of on our show.

The ongoing event is  a current run of  a new horror film written and starring Penn Jillette- the talking half of the amazing magic duo Penn and Teller- and directed by a young man named Adam Rifkin-  a talented film-maker who grew up watching my shows, and counts me as one of his influences!

The movie- "Director's Cut"- has a great premise, playing off a currently popular way for projects to be bankrolled- crowd-funding. A low-budget horror movie  is being funded in that manner, and one of the investors (Penn) takes advantage of the reward of being on the movie set.The only problem- he is obsessed with the female star of the film,  kidnaps her, and hijacks the production!

This film, for adult audiences, will have a two-week run at the Gene Siskel Film Center in downtown Chicago starting tonight with a special screening event featuring Penn and Adam. The film will run at various times- you can check them out, and order tickets at http://www.siskelfilmcenter.org/directorscut

The other event is my yearly visit to the Flashback Weekend horror convention in Rosemont, IL! We always have a great time there, and I get to meet so many of you terrific viewers. To quote from my Facebook posting:

I’ll be at Flashback Weekend Chicago Horror Convention for two days this year Aug. 6-7, 2016.  I’ll be signing autographs, posing for photos and hosting the Sinister Visions Costume contest on Sat. Aug. 6, and on Sun. Aug. 7 I’ll be live on stage emceeing “ABBOTT & COSTELLO MEET FRANKENSTEIN” with audience participation, prizes, and many surprises.  Flashback Weekend has a HUGE vendor room and many other great celebrity guests this year including a SCREAM reunion with Neve Campbell, Mathew Lillard, & Skeet Ulrich, Malcolm McDowell, a Slashers and Final girls reunion, and many more.  Check out the guest line-up at www.flashbackweekend.com.

Just wanted to give you a heads-up on these events- especially the "Director's Cut" run, which will only be here briefly! And- there may be additional events on the way- so, please check here and  on our site under the "appearances" tab  every so often for more info.
