“Venom” I On? Tonight- with “Cult of the Cobra”!

Our  month of Sven taking a bite out of ME continues with a fangy female whose scaly state brings revenge for the "Cult of the Cobra"!

Some servicemen stationed in the mystic East are playing tourist, but want something  more out of the ordinary than the standard fare at the bazaar- and are led to a hidden location where a cult of snake worshippers are holding a secret ceremony. When one boneheaded airman takes a photo, the boys are found out, and have to flee for their lives, as a cult leader curses them! In the escape, one of them is mysteriously injured, and, as he recuperates in the hospital, something gets to him- leaving him dead!

His heartbroken buddies head back to the states, where two of them, Tom and Paul, have always been in competition for the heart of the fair Julia. When she accepts the proposal of Paul, Tom is brooding when he hears the scream of a neighbor- who turns out to be a beautiful stranger, telling a tale of  an intruder who is nowhere to be found. Tom  rebounds towards this woman,Lisa- but has a tough time figuring out her feelings. Meanwhile, more of his buddies meet horrible fates- and it becomes apparent that the curse hurled at them back in the hidden temple is coming true- and the ex-servicemen are being bumped off, one by one, by someone who transforms into- a snake!

This 1955 flick is notable for starring Faith Domergue, an actress who had a history with Howard Hughes- and for featuring a real bounty of actors you see in many Me-TV programs! See how many you can recognize- including the cult member who curses the boys- he usually is fully in...CONTROL! There's lots of Sven shtick as well, so the "scales" are definitely in your favor!

"Cult of the Cobra" slithers onto your screen tonight on Me-TV at 10 pm eastern and pacific, 9 pm central, and check for the time slot in your area. In Chicago, you get a bonus viewing of Bela Lugosi as "Dracula" on WCIU, the U, at 11 am!
