Who Needs Oil of Olay? Not “The Leech Woman”- Tonight!

Posted on February 7, 2015

Everybody wants to look younger- but, few would go to the lengths that an aging beauty does in this Saturday night's MeTV movie- "The Leech Woman"!

We meet an arrogant doctor who's bored with his aging wife- who was a great beauty, but is a victim of the passing of time. Their world is turned upside down when the doc is visited by an old woman- whose tests show that her claim of having been brought to America by slave traders almost 150 years ago are true! She hints that she can reveal the secret- which prompts the doctor to plan a dangerous journey to Africa - bringing along his wife (as a test subject, perhaps?)- to find the old woman and learn her amazing source of eternal youth. Things get serious when the doctor's party is captured by the old woman's tribe-but the youth secret is finally revealed- a strange powder, which, when mixed with a male subject's pineal gland fluid, restores one to their younger self. Did I mention the method of getting that fluid kind of leaves the male subject...DEAD?!

The doctor's wife uses the secret formula to become her ravishing younger self- but- what do you suppose she has to do to maintain her hot young countenance? She returns to America, pretending to be someone else and having eyes for her family attorney- but, when the formula starts wearing off again...

This 1960 fright film features Coleen Gray as the title female, and we get "The Incredible Shrinking Man"'s Grant Williams as the lawyer caught in the middle of things. This film was put on movie theater bills back then with "Brides of Dracula" which comes up soon on our show- and some people think the Roger Corman film "Wasp Woman" has a lot in common with this film. We'll fill you in our cast, and provide the usual Sven-tertainment along the way.

"The Leech Woman" appears tonight on MeTV at 10 pm eastern/ pacific, 9 pm central, and please check your local listings for when we run where you are. In Chicago, at 11 am, WCIU viewers get a second look  at a different dame -"Weird Woman"- along with highlights from the Sven night at Chicago's Museum of Broadcast Communications.

I've been told that the order form for the monthly retired rubber chicken contest should be working! Also, we've got information posted under "appearances" for my Feb. 14th appearance at the Mad Mobster Chicago 2015 event. Coming soon- more appearance information!

Watch tonight,we beseech, for the woman who's a leech!
