Will YOU Be Aware of Who is the Werewolf? Give It a Try- when "The Beast Must Die"- Tonight!

Tonight on MeTV- we again give viewers a chance to play detective- and decide just who among a group of party guests is actually cursed to become a werewolf when the moon is full- as their host is positive that someone will transform and he will fulfill his mission that - “The Beast Must Die”!

Yes, we previously ran this 1974 British film earlier this year- and our contract stipulates that we run it once again. For the sake of any viewers who did not see it in the previous run, please join us in avoiding spoilers.

We start out with a lone figure making his way through the woods, trying to avoid detection. He is, in reality, wealthy hunter Tom Newcliffe, testing the security of his remote mansion - for a very specific purpose. He has invited a select group of people to join him at this time of the full moon- because he suspects that one of them- is a werewolf! Naturally, the guests’ reactions to that range from amused to outraged- as he describes his reasons why he suspects each one of them could be the cursed one. However, his lovely wife Caroline does not seem very thrilled by these accusations-yet that doesn’t stop him from putting his visitors through various tests that might reveal who will become a wolf.

The guests do not realize that – no matter where they are, in the mansion or on the grounds-they are constantly being watched by a battery of security cameras, carefully watched by Tom’s security chief Pavel- who, unlike his employer, personally doesn’t believe in werewolves- but does his job nonetheless.

Among the guest suspects, we have a former diplomat, a pianist and his student ( who is now his wife), an artist who has a questionable past- as do the other guests- and an archeology professor who has a keen interest in lycanthropy.

When Tom’s various tests do not appear to reveal any results, there is proof that someone there is indeed a werewolf when its first victim is found! The suspicion intensifies, as more  reasons to suspect each guest surface- and Tim becomes more and more obsessed with finding the true changeling- and being the first hunter to kill a werewolf!

This movie, from the Amicus film studio, is unusual for a few reasons- the most well-known being that there comes a time in the film- labeled “The Werewolf Break”- when the viewer is asked to make a decision about which character is the actual werewolf! We’ll tell you about the cast, including horror legend Peter Cushing as the authority on werewolves- show you a way to lose weight and get fit- and bring you a song.

“The Beast Must Die” will be on MeTV tonight at 8 pm eastern, 7 central time- if you are unsure of the time or channel in your area, please check your local listings, or at www.metv.com . We have heard of the show being pre-empted in some areas, due to sports or special programming on their local station’s main channels forcing other programming into our timeslot. We regret that happening, and have gotten word that, for some of these channels, this will be the last week of that happening. In our Chicago viewing area, on our main local station, CW 26, we will have an encore of the popular Rondo Hatton feature “House of Horrors” at 11 am.
