Wrap Gifts While the Invisible Man Unwraps his Noggin for Bud and Lou- Tonight!

Posted on December 21, 2013

Heyyyy Abbott! Tonight, Abbott and Costello meet yet another movie menace- this time, it's harder to prove, since they can't see him! It's  a little lighter fare so as not to break the holiday mood- it's '"Abbott and Costello Meet the Invisible Man"!

Yes, Bud and Lou manage to graduate from detective school (amazing, isn't it? Guys like them and the 3 stooges manage to graduate, even with low grades...) and , when hankering for a case, coincidentally are visited by a young prizefighter who is accused of murdering his manager! He coaxes the boys into joining him in a visit to his fiancee's home, where her uncle , as scientist, is experimenting with the same invisibility formula that drove Griffin, the original Invisible Man, insane! The boxer,Tommy,  insists he must use it to try to find his manager's real killer and clear his name (Clear... I get it...)- but the scientist  says the formula is still not perfected, and might cause him to go mad. Just then- the police arrive, and, while Bud plays turncoat and would give Tommy over to the authorities, Tommy injects himself with the formula- and- it works- he's invisible!

Tommy escapes, but later joins Bud and Lou again- keeping an eye on the easily swayed Bud- to help him find the real killer- who may be a fight promoter who got mad when Tommy refused to throw a fight. It's decided that Lou should pose as a boxer- with his "punches" provided by the invisible Tommy, and Bud as his manager- to try to flush out the truth. Along the way, the formula's effects on Tommy's mind  come into play- as do some shady characters- and there's a lot more danger than just a left hook!

This 1951 comedy has the usual "invisible" effects- plus a cast loaded with familiar faces- whom we'll tell you all about. Plus, in honor of the upcoming holiday, we've added some classic Sven Christmas bits to the show!
