Wrestling with Another Podcast- and More!

Posted on May 13, 2015

I just wanted to let any of you who are fans of both horror movies and hosts AND professional wrestling, that I recorded a podcast with our old friend Jim Cornette, wrestling icon and horror fan, that will be posted on Thursday morning of the 14th, for your listening pleasure! It's the "Jim Cornette Experience", and Jim and I had a fun conversation about his favorite horror films, horror hosts he has encountered, and some of my TV history, along with stories of the first wrestling I ever watched and more. You can listen to the podcast by going to  www.mlwradio.com    and click on the Jim Cornette Experience -or, you can go to Jim's website, www.jimcornette.com  ! Jim said the podcast with me will be up from Thursday morning  for a week, so, if you're interested, make sure you check it out!

For those who asked about something I mentioned in last week's mail segment-fans of those great Rankin-Bass animated productions like "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer", "Frosty the Snowman", "Mad Monster Party" and so many more should know- our friend Rick Goldschmidt  is, as I said, working on a documentary about the "Enchanted World of Rankin-Bass"- and you can find more information about it, as well as Rick's  books, at www.miserbros.com .

Once again, if you're a trivia buff in the Chicago area- you can help out the Brookfield AAZK  and the "96 Elephants" organization which works to bring attention to the ivory crisis in Africa. by taking part in the "Elephant Trivia Night" coming up at the Brookfield VFW Hall -8844 Ogden Ave. in Brookfield- on Friday, May 29th. There is a "Svengoolie" table that you can join- for ten rounds of ten questions, with subjects like movies, TV,the music and more. There's a cash prize for the winning team, plus a raffle of some cool items- including artwork actually made by elephants! Enjoy the cash bar, bring your own food and non-alcoholic beverages, and bring along some friends for this fun trivia night! For more information and to sign up,just go to the AAZK website - http://brookfieldaazk.org/  . Please make sure you mention you want to be part of "Team Svengoolie"- and good luck!

Speaking of the AAZK, we are proud to have been a part of their Spaghetti Dinner event raising funds for the Vital Ground organization (helping procure and maintain land for bears in the wild)- not only did they present Vital Ground with the largest donation from the event ever- but additional sponsors, so impressed by  the Brookfield AAZK"s hard work and fund raising, added to the donation and it ended up being over eight times the original amount! The AAZK does a lot of good- and you help them to do it- so, thank you!

Thanks for bringing us another great rating last Saturday night- make sure you come back here on the weekend to get the info on this week's show!
