Tonight on MeTV-it’s beyond belief when alien forces take over human earthling hosts as slaves to help accomplish their secret mission- with only one man immune to their control who can battle their mission of conquest! Discover the truth behind why “They Came from Beyond Space”!

In this 1967 film, observers are confused by the arrival of meteors flying in formation that then crash into the Earth. Dr. Curtis Temple wants to investigate- but has recently been in an auto accident, resulting in a steel plate being inserted in his head- and his superiors feel he is not well enough to make the trip. Ironically, they send a group led by Lee Mason- Temple’s girlfriend!

Upon arrival at the crash site near Cornwall- Lee and her team try to chip off a piece of one of the unusually colored meteors- but the impact results in a flash of light and energy-resulting in alien consciousness imbedded in the meteors to be transported into the bodies and minds of the scientists!

One of Temple’s scientist friends makes an odd discovery- the meteors seem to have come from- the moon! Since he has heard nothing from Lee, Temple disobeys orders and travels to the crash site- which now is cordoned off by an electrical fence, with armed guards. He is not allowed to enter this sort of military post- stopped by, of all people, Lee, who reacts to him coldly and with threats!

Things get even stranger in the nearby town when people suddenly develop a strange red rash- and fall dying to the ground! This “Crimson Plague” claims more and more victims- and yet, Temple remains both healthy and beyond the mental control of the aliens. He sees a rocket blast off from the compound and sets out to infiltrate the headquarters- where he is captured and must find a way to escape- and take Lee with him. He enlists the aid of an old friend who discovers why Temple is immune to the alien powers- and they head back to the base only to run afoul of the latest rocket mission. They must face off with the aliens now inhabiting their human victims’ bodies- and learn what the aliens’ mission is!

This film production of Amicus, a company that usually made horror anthologies like “Tales From the Crypt” and “Asylum”, was directed by noted British filmmaker Freddie Francis, and features some recognizable English actors, including Jennifer Jayne, who has appeared on our show in “The Crawling Eye”.
