This stunning new 'Star Trek' collectable has two very different functions

We've never been so excited about a coffee table before seeing this.

You don't have to be a die-hard fan of Star Trek to collect memorabilia from the original series, which celebrates its 50th birthday this year. But how big of a fan do you have to be to own pieces of furniture dedicated to the franchise?

One company is attempting to answer that question by producing one of the most ornate Star Trek collectables ever created. Recently, Delta Furniture unveiled the "Shuttle Interactive Coffee Table" based on the sci-fi franchise.

That's right, it's a coffee table that also doubles as a pinball machine. The future has arrived, and it's in the form of this brilliant piece of furniture.

The table takes inspiration from a pinball machine created by Data East in 1991. It's been updated to include LED lighting and new electronic controls. So while this table is meant for decoration, it's fully functional as a pinball machine as well.

Oh, and did we forget to mention it also includes four different meteorites? Seriously.

Although this isn't too good to be true, it's definitely out of reach for the vast majority of us. The coffee table comes with a hefty price tag of — deep breath — $15,000, so you might want to think twice before picturing this beauty in front of your sofa.

Delta Furniture's website says the table is made to order, but is currently out of stock. Basically, this amazing coffee table is as out of reach as the 23rd century. But here's to hoping a cheaper version comes our way soon!
