Here's every episode of The Golden Girls that got Betty White nominated for an Emmy
White was nominated for an Emmy for every season!
Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution
The Golden Girls was a rare show where every member of the ensemble really shines. Over the series' seven-year run, each of the four leads won a Primetime Emmy. This has been achieved only three other times — Will & Grace, All in the Family, and Schitt's Creek. However, Golden Girls sets itself further apart by being the only series that achieved this with the leads competing against each other in the same category.
Betty White held a special honor, though. She was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series every year for The Golden Girls, all the way to the final season. Let's take a look at the episodes that got her the nod — and the one that got her the win.

The first episode Betty White was nominated for was also the one that won her the prize!
In this episode, Rose brings home a man, only for Sophia to discover in the morning that he died during the night. Since Rose's late husband also died while they were in bed together, she swears off ever sleeping with a man again. Things get even more complicated when it turns out that the man was married.
2. Isn't It Romantic?
Dorothy has a friend come visit, who is mourning the loss of her long-term partner. It is revealed that her partner had been a woman, and she develops feelings for Rose. Rose says that while she cannot return her feelings, she values their friendship and the two agree to be good friends.
This groundbreaking episode was nominated for four Emmys, and won Terry Hughes the award for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series.
3. Bringing Up Baby
Rose's uncle dies, and she learns that she will be gaining custody of a baby. The ladies all agree to raise the child together, until "Baby" arrives and turns out to be a pet pig! Not only that, but there is $100,000 in it for whoever cares for Baby after the pig's death.
4. High Anxiety
The girls discover that Rose is addicted to prescription pain medication. Together, they spend the whole night sitting up with Rose and distracting her to get her through her first night without them. Bolstered by their companionship and support, Rose agrees to go to a treatment center.
5. Rose Fights Back
Rose's late husband's company shuts down, leaving her without his pension. Without it, her part-time job can no longer pay her bills, so she tries to apply elsewhere, only to be rejected for being too old. She brings this age discrimination to an investigative consumer reporter on TV, and ends up gunning for an open position as his assistant.
6. Once, in St. Olaf
Rose meets her biological father while volunteering at the hospital. It turns out that he's a monk, and has known about her for years. She struggles with how to feel, still angry with him for never being in her life.
7. Dateline: Miami
While Dorothy is out on a date, the rest of the ladies reminisce on past nights out on the town. Rose remembers an eventful dinner that kept getting interrupted by her date's increasingly angry past partners, as well as a New Year's Eve with a pushy date.
